A Stormy Week ~

Image
A Stormy Week.... So this happened this past week... I am not sure what other areas this brutal storm affected. I do know that some areas got hit much harder than we did, and my heart goes out to everyone suffering the impacts of this weather event.  Where I live in Ontario, we are definitely not used to this type of weather, the storm came in fast and took all of us by "storm".  The damage was devastating, and many in this area were left with no power for upwards of a week, some are still waiting for the return of power.  The sound of chainsaws has overpowered the birds for the last week, seems there was always a chainsaw lulling in the distance.  Kudos to our Hydro, Road Maintenance, and Emergency crews that have worked so hard to get everyone back to some sense of normality.  So again, I am not sure what you may have experienced for weather, but do hope that everyone is well.  Due the lack of power ~ posts here, card tutorials, and generally anyth...

Sweet Songbirds in a Bendi card tutorial

Image
Well, just how cute is this card? I know, I ask that a lot, but they are all just so darn cute!  This card features those adorable Sweet Songbirds.  I've also featured some of the New In Colors 2022-24 on this card. I know, I said I wasn't going to cave and purchase those, however, I did. It was clear to me it was going to be difficult to continue creating with current product if I didn't have the colors to go with the product. That's what I told myself anyway... 😉 So.. do you like it enough to want to make it? It certainly doesn't matter if you don't have the New in colors, you can make it with colors and designer series paper that you have. However, you must check out the new colors, they just pop! Especially this Parakeet Party!  You want to make it don't you?  Just let me show you some of the product first...                    Sweet Songbirds Bundle                T...

The Willow Tree...

Image
Let's talk about this Willow Tree... The Willow Tree Bundle This Bundle was one of my "must have items" from the time I first viewed the New Annual Catalogue from Stampin' Up. I felt like it had so many possibilities... and it does.  The first time I sat down at my desk to give it a whirl, left me slightly frustrated or maybe puzzled is a better word. It created a mystery I have yet to figure out ~ the placement of the die cut vines to create the willow tree.  In the example above I used the solid die cuts that are included in the set. Then cut the vines, most of which come in one piece that in no way shape or form fit over the tree to create the umbrella of vines that a willow tree has.  Now perhaps the die cuts were not meant for that purpose, I am still determined to create the tree using only the die cut vines, so you can watch for that coming up... it's coming.. I know it.  The stamp set is pretty straight forward, however I find it easier to stamp the la...
