Grassy Grove Christmas ~ Using up Designer Paper Stash

Image
Does anyone else have a stash of designer paper that needs to be used up? Or is that just me? I have been organizing designer paper into assorted paper packs for a "stash sale" ( contact me for details on that ) and while looking at the beautiful papers ~ cards were creating in my thoughts. Quickly I put together this lovely Christmas card that barely needed anything other than the paper.  I paired it with 2 deer cut from the Grove dies in Silver Foil paper . Heat embossed the greeting with silver embossing powder , and added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels . The images and sentiment on the inside finished up nicely with a little more heat embossing with silver metallic embossing powder. This card was so quick & easy it would have been a great 5 Minute Monday card, however I couldn't find a current designer paper this beautiful!  If you happen to have some of this paper in your stash, you can easily make up this card for the upcoming Christmas season, and if not ~ ...

5 Minute Monday ~ Snowman Magic Seasonal Card

Image
I was a little stumped when it came to today's post. It definitely feels like fall in the air here... So much so, that it felt like I should for sure be creating a card with fall leaves or pumpkins while sipping a pumpkin spice coffee wrapped in a warm fuzzy blanket. Or some scary little ghosts or witches in preparation for Halloween. However, as I have said before, I don't overdue it with Halloween cards as it's not an occasion I send many cards out for.  I do have a few Halloween treat holders coming up as I think pretty much everyone will have some cute little trick or treaters arriving at their door, and knowing how to create an adorable treat packaging makes your treat that much more memorable.  So... back to today's card... it's cool, it's chilly even and we did have a few of those little white snowflakes flying throughout the air just the other evening. So I pulled out a stamp & die set I haven't yet worked.  Snowman Magic Bundle Is what we are...

Scary Cute Meets Grassy Grove ~ Halloween Card

Image
This adorable card is definitely scary cute and features the Scary Cute Bundle .  Cut an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 card base from Basic Black cardstock and scored it @ 4 1/4  Cut a layer of Mango Melody card stock at 4 x 5 1/4 and using the stamparatus I stamp the 3 little trick or treaters from the Scary Cute stamp set several times on the bottom right of the Mango Melody layer. Stamp the greeting (on a scrap of Mango Melody ) using the same method to achieve a very dark black ink image. When the stamping is done attach this Mango Melody layer to the front of the card base. *** Remember this card is done in in a horizontal layout. A layer of Basic Black cardstock at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and run it through the die cut machine with the large tree section from the Grassy Grove dies . Die cut a bat and the haunted house from the Scary Cute Dies. Attach the bat to the card front. Using a few mini dimensionals attach the haunted house. Be sure to position it so that it can be seen once you attach ...

Aspen Tree Dies continued ~ Kindest Gnomes

Image
How cute is this adorable little gnome peeking out from behind the trees? He's just popping in to say "Hello" (stamped from the Soft Seedlings stamp set) So yes.. I paired up the Aspen Tree Dies with the Kindest Gnome stamp set, along with a few little cut out images from the past Sale abration " Rings of Love" designer paper.  The background layer behind the trees is a piece of designer paper from the Hues of Happiness designer paper . This layer is cut at 4 x 5 1/4 The tree layer cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/4 is attached using dimensionals. I die cut the trees in a basic grey cardstock and then sponge daubed a little basic grey ink to increase the depth of the trees. I stamped and colored my favorite gnome ( the little peeking fellow ) from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set . I fussy cut around his little hands so that I could place him behind the tree and still have his hands visible on the front side of the tree. I just tucked him in behind with a little adhesive. Revised Birdhouse Card Tutorial - Free Printable Tutorial

Image
I created this card back in May to promote the Sweet Songbirds Bundle . It was quite a hit.. I'm sure folks were " tweeting " about it everywhere!  The tutorial for this card first went out as an exclusive tutorial for my Paper Adventures subscribers. Since that time I have received well into 4000 requests for the tutorial. It seemed it was easier for me to add the tutorial for everyone at this point, rather than continuing to email individual copies to each person. However, from first glance at the Perched in a Tree Bundle when it was released in the Holiday Mini Catalogue, left me wanted to recreate the card using that bundle. It was on my " To Do " list... and finally I managed to get that far down the very long list!  So this is the revised edition of the Birdhouse Card Tutorial. I really like how it turned out. The first edition was extremely cute with the little songbird on it, and this one just seems well...like the grown up version. Supplies needed to ...

Hello Everyone! I hope you have all had a great week?!  Today's 5 Minute Monday Tutorial is a little Bewitching!  I know... it's to early to be thinking about Halloween, however summer has left rather abruptly, and fall is slipping away so quickly that before you know Halloween will be here.  So it's a good idea to get a few Halloween cards out there just in case you have a few little goblins you need to send cards to.  Just in case... you never ever send Halloween cards - I have also created 2 alternatives to show that you can use this layout with pretty much any focal point. 5 Minute Monday ~Fall Back In Time ~ Gorgeous Leaves

Image
Happy Fall, Y'all!  Today's 5 Minute Monday Card Tutorial is all about those beautiful fall leaves that are beginning to transition from their lovely summer green to a gorgeous fall color palette.  To create this card I had to "fall" back in time to the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle that was in last year's fall/holiday mini catalogue. If you don't have this set you could use any die cut you have for a Maple Leaf, as well as a stamp set that has a few leaves in it. This is the set I used, in particular the dies that were included in the bundle.  You could use Aspen Tree Dies from the current catalogue, I did, however I didn't like the outcome. The Aspen Leaf just seemed to get lost on the card somewhere.  I did use the small aspen leaf stamp and die on the 2nd variation of this card, with a few of the leaves from the above set. I simply loved the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle when it came out last year ~ it was a keeper for me. Just one of those bundles I will continue...
