Beautifully Happy - Create a Birthday Card

Image
This card has been one of the year's most popular cards, everyone wants one! It's both quick & simple to create and the end result as you can see is just beautiful.  I made several extras of this card in different color variations for the my long term card residents in the "Just Because" program.  The card can be created with pretty much any paper, though the gingham  prints do look especially lovely.  Also, any flower image could be used - so one that you might already  have in your stash?! Embellish the card with any ribbons, gems or tidbits that you might have.  The tiny bit of ink splatter just gave the card a final touch of special!  Beautifully Happy Birthday Card Tutorial I hope you have enjoyed this card and that it has brought you some  creative inspiration...

5 Minute Monday ~ Beautifully Happy

Image
Today's 5 Minute Monday tutorial comes in 3 stages and features this Beautifully Happy stamp set available FREE during Sale a-bration.  Tomorrow, February 28th is the last day to grab this stamp set!! There are so many cards I created using stamp sets from Sale a-bration that I didn't even get a chance to feature them all. However, I just could not let this beautiful stamp set go away without featuring a card from it.   I absolutely love the this stamp set. It's so easy to work with.  No coloring ~ the Beautifully Happy stamp set is a 2 step stamp. There are stamps that stamp the outside image and then fill in stamps that do exactly that fill in the leaf spaces or the flowers, allowing the flower to come together so easily!   The greetings are beautiful and I love the ink splatter stamp and the tiny little bee.  This tutorial also has 3 different versions... so you will want to be sure to try them all! All of the cards show case the Country Gingham ...

At the Pond Host Stamp Set ~ Inside Pop Out Card

Image
Just a regular old "Hello Friend" card? Not at all... This card looks fairly plain and simple on the outside, however the inside reveals a card with a little more fun included! The card reveals these adorable little frogs sitting on logs on a warm summer day catching flies... how cute!  This card design allows the focal point of the card to just "pop out" at you as soon as you open the card.  These little frogs make for such a cute focal point.  I used the Host Stamp set By the Pond from Stampin' Up ( search in my online store or ask me how to get that ), however the sun, the smallest frog, and the sentiment came from the February Paper Pumpkin.  That kit has already gone out, we can always watch for it to come up in the form of a kit refill under the kits section of the online store.  At the Pond stamp set is actually a really cute stamp set on it's own that allows for so much creativity.  It's a 2 step stamp really, in that it has the outline ima...

5 Minute Monday ~ Happy Family Day!

Image
It's family Day here in Canada!  What better way to celebrate family that with the arrival of a New Baby.  Though I do have a  new grand baby coming, it's not until March ( which is whole other little miracle story ), so  Family Day seemed like a great day to create a baby card, since I don't do enough of those.  I never seem to have one handy.  I feel the lack of baby related stamps or sentiments could be why I don't create many baby cards. I certainly always have people looking for them. I set out to create with products I already had in my arsenal.  I used the bunny from the Playing in the Rain stamp set . I also tried it with the Easter Bunny stamp set . The sentiments were from Happier Than Happy stamp set . The cards turned out quite cute, however I would still be quite pleased with a really great "baby" oriented stamp set.  So here's the card Measurements:  Petal Pink Cardstock - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  Scored @ 4 1/4  Scrap t...

5 Minute Monday ~ Blending an Outlined Image to create a Valentine Card

Image
Today's 5 Minute Monday ... literally was created in 5 minutes!  I was working on a series of cards for this week and time got away with me and suddenly I thought "it's Monday" ~  I wanted to be able to share one more quick attempt at a Valentine before the big day tomorrow, however this card has the versatility to be for any occasion really. Just change the sentiment to Birthday or that that applies. I had some paper out for another project with some local ladies where we use all of our designer paper, even if it's retired. This retired "True Love" paper caught my eye!! I cut the black outlined image of the flowers right out of a sheet of the True Love designer paper.  Maybe you still have some of this retired paper, maybe you have some paper similar to it, maybe you don't.  If you don't ~ you can stamp the outline of a flower or bouquet of flowers image that you do have. Just be sure to give the black ink time to dry.  This card used a Basic ...

Lighting the Way ~ Gate Fold Pop Up Card

Image
I love fireflies!!  When this Lighting the Way Bundle appeared in the Jan - April mini catalogue I was completely thrilled! I love anything with fireflies and just knew I would have so much fun creating cards with this bundle.   This was the first card in my creative process.  It has a cute little belly band. I don't do a belly band on a card very much, however for this design it worked out perfectly.  The dusting of fireflies as well as the black firefly are so sparkly and shimmery in a dash of Wink of Stella . Remove the belly band to reveal the magic of fireflies and a beautiful copper lantern inside. The gorgeous background paper comes from a pack of designer series paper where each sheet is as lovely as the next. It is called " Enjoy the Journey ".   When this paper was first revealed I really had no interest in it, or maybe overlooked it, then it became available as a FREE item during Sale a-bration so I gave it a try and absolutely loved...

5 Minute Monday ~ Quick & Easy Valentine Card!

Image
Valentine's Day is one of the most popular greeting card sending occasions. I create hundreds upon hundreds of greeting cards every year.  Yet despite this... I struggle when it comes to making Valentine cards. Does anyone else?  I am without rhyme or reason as to why... as a kid I loved to use snippets of ribbon, cardstock or any other crafty items to be found around the house to create Valentine cards to hand out to the other kids in class. I created Valentine cards with my children for the purpose of handing out in school, and always made a special Valentine for each of my children. However, those were kiddie Valentines... and I seem to be lacking in the "romance" spectrum of creating a Valentine card!! So, if you were expecting anything amazing on this blog for a Valentine Card tutorial... you came to the wrong place! I have however created this this cute enough.. and quick little Valentine card above. It will do the trick when creating a quick & easy card to giv...
