Blending a background ~ Lighting the Way

Image
Create this beautiful card by blending a background to show off these  gorgeous fireflies and lantern on a card front.  Here we blended  a background, and added a little sparkle and pizzazz to it to make a gorgeous environment for these adorable fireflies.  The background was blended using a blending brush and a combination of Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, and Fresh Freesia Inks.  I stamped some Starry Sky Ink on the corner of a stamp block and added a bit of water from a water painter. Dipped the water painter in the "mess" on the block then tapped the water painter against a pen overtop the blended layer.   I gave the layer just a mist of water from the Stampin' Spritzer.  When the layer was dry ( that only takes a minute or 2 ), I used a White Jelly Roll pen to add a few dots of white to the background. Meet Chuck! ~ Inverted Die Cut Card

Image
Look who just made an appearance at the coop! Last year the crazy chickens from the Hey Chick stamp set made for some hilarious cards and later Hey Birthday Chick arrived on the scene as well. These hilarious chickens were my most popular and most requested cards for that whole year. People could not get enough of them! I'm thrilled to see the arrival of Hey Chuck ~ this wild and zany rooster! I'm sure he is going to be just as much fun! This card features an inverted die cut and some great gingham patterned paper. I feel like the "great gingham" is back  only in the form of Glorious Gingham. I love a beautiful country themed paper!
