Flip Book Card Tutorial - Featuring Hey Chuck & Glorious Gingham

Image
Check out this card! Incredibly cute and fun! I showed you this layout a few days ago using the Lighting the Way stamp  set and dies, however came to the conclusion that I need to use it with  product that was available to purchase since the paper I had used on  the firefly card had been retired. So.... Here it is... it appears that "Chuck" is back!!  Easy to see why, I love creating cards with this bundle. Not only have I featured the Hey Chuck stamp set, I also used Glorious Gingham Designer Paper, and the new Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock  - such a brilliant color! So this card is a bit of a fun fold in that it allows you to have an extra panel.  So if you have a stamp set where you would like to create a bit of a storyline with your card or you want to use several sentiments... this is the card layout for that. I also did this card using another extra panel, so it has 4 panels in total.  I'll give you a peek at that in the next post. Here are t...

The Last of the Fireflies...

Image
As summer comes to a painful close... I wanted to share one more card  with these beautiful little fireflies.  This card is an extremely cute flip fold card, and it has that name because it reminds me of  one of those flip books.  This type of card is extremely useful if you have a stamp set with so many great images that you just can't fit them all on the card front.  The extra panel allows for a little more creativity.  One of my favorite parts of summer are the warm nights with crickets singing, and just a gentle enough breeze to slightly cool the high temperatures. On those warm evenings I can look out into the wooded area behind my house and into the enchanted forest! The whole treed area aglow with tiny little sparkling lights blinking everywhere.  What a magical feeling!  I haven't seen the fireflies since last week since the evening temperatures have dipped down quite a bit. I hope to see them again before summer departs, but the reality i...

Special Delivery ~ Vintage Truck Birthday Card

Image
When I was a kid we had a neighbor down the road with a big farm  where they grew nothing but vegetables. The biggest gardens I had ever seen.  The elderly man and his wife planted and reaped these vegetables that  supplied  our 2 local grocery stores all summer and fall with cucumbers,  tomatoes ,  corn, potatoes, carrots and such. Every few days, they made their way out the driveway from the farmhouse and down the road they went just a mile or two into town to deliver goods in a  truck just like the one on this card. This couple were the sweetest people I had ever met, and I will still stand by that. They were greatly admired by everyone in the community and many times created jobs for individuals who were in dire need of work. From the moment the Trucking Along stamp set was released, I knew I had  to see if I could make the truck look just like Ol' Pete's! The truck on the card above is my first attempt to create a patina look that woul...

Falling Leaves Note Cards

Image
These beautiful note cards were created using last fall's "Gorgeous Leaves" stamp set.  Maybe you still have that set lingering in your stash, or maybe you have a stamp that is similar to this that you could create these cards with.  A few leaf stamps, a splatter or a woodgrain stamp. Your choice of sentiment and a some ink.  That's all that is required. Very few supplies, very little effort - beautiful outcome!! Use any ink colors that you like, in a combination or in similar shades. These cards have a simple "hello" or "thinking of you" sentiment which makes them a great go to card to grab when you need to send a quick note card. Yesterday's card was inspired by these cards only using a current stamp set and a leaf die to create a little more dimension on the card front.  You can learn all about that card here .  Whichever card design you choose to create the recipient will love it! I hope you enjoyed this card option and that it has given  y...

SVG Sunday ~ 3D Apple with Flowers

Image
We created this adorable little 3D Apple & caterpillar for SVG Sunday.  Everything is made from paper including the pretty flowers. How cute is that little caterpillar? Whether we like it or not - Fall seems to be upon us here in Ontario.  The leaves have started to turn color, pumpkins and squash are getting ready  for a fall entry. As corn, hay and wheat are reaching their peak growth  the farmers are harvesting their crops.  And apples... the apple trees are loaded so full that the branches of the trees are just completely hanging on the ground in some places.  It is the perfect time to create this adorable centerpiece to decorate a table, a teacher's desk, or in my case the entry table at a local long term care home.

Fall in Love with this Quick & Easy Fall Thank You Card

Image
So today we did a quick little tutorial for this beautiful fall thank you card. We used the Aspen Tree Dies , along with a stamp from the Perched in Tree stamp set  to create this quick and easy card with gorgeous falling leaves. Yes, it is that time again, where the leaves have started to turn color and although  it turns the countryside into a beautiful artistic landscape it also means  that summer is coming to a close. As much as I am not ready for summer to end,  I do love the colors of the beautiful fall leaves. Other than the above stamp  and die, I also used just a scrap of   Daffodil Delight Cardstock , Copper Clay Cardstock , Cherry Cobbler Cardstock . As well as the coordinating ink colors: Daffodil Delight Ink Pad Copper Clay Ink Pad Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad The cardstock base was cut at 4 1/4 x 11  from Basic White Thick Cardstock,  Scored @ 5 1/2 The "Thanks" sentiment was from Sentimental Park stamp set , stamped in Black Memen...

Faux Step Panel Card - Trucking Along

Image
I created this  Faux Step Panel card for my husband's birthday on Tuesday!!  He has a cute green truck and spends a lot of time in the woods milling lumber. I wanted to create a card that spoke to him and everything about this card coincided with everything he likes.  I did have to dig into some retired stuff to find something I could use to  create  some little logs or sticks of wood to go in the back of the truck. I used Merry Moose stamp set and cut the raccoon off of the log  to create that effect.  However, the Trucking along stamp set has a ton of great things to add to the  back of the truck - including flowers, flower pots, a Christmas tree,  palm  trees and some presents.  Not only does the stamp set include the above images it also includes the fill in stamp for them. So you don't even have to color the images if you don't want to.  Personally, I love coloring the truck though... This stamp set also comes as a bundle ...

Trucking Along - Peekaboo Window Front

Image
The Trucking Along stamp set from Stampin' Up finally arrived and I have been  having so much fun creating cute cards with it! This little truck comes in a "bundle" that includes a punch, however I didn't get the punch - that truck looked easier to fussy cut than most stamped images, so the stamp was going to work just great for me. So... the stamp set - The truck itself is pretty true to form in the shaping and details of the famous little red truck that we have been seeing everywhere on home decor and marketing for the last few years.  The stamp set includes a tree, clouds and several little objects for the truck box - including the wooden truck rack itself. There are flowers, flower pots, a palm tree, a load of presents and of course the infamous Christmas tree.  Also included in stamp form - fill in stamps for all of the stamp images.  The fill ins are great when creating quick images with no time to color. All in all... the stamp set is quite cute! Do I wonder w...

A cute fall card!

Image
It seemed like it was time to create a fall themed card... we all know that summer is travelling way to fast and that fall/autumn is just around the corner! I am  never happy to see summer coming to a close, however Fall is definitely my season!! The colors, the cooler temperatures yet still warm days, and just the smell of fall in the air.  Fall reminds us that change can be beautiful!! With that in mind, I dug way down deep into my stash and pulled out a cute little stamp set that I don't even have any idea where it came from.  I knew I had never used it before... so that seemed reason enough to create something with it. The set was full of fall leaves, and some really cute little squirrel images having fun with fall leaves and acorns.  I chose 2 squirrel images, a stack of leaves and a tree branch from the set to create my card. I used my Copic markers to color the images. Blended a bit of a ground and sky background on the Basic White Layer for the card front. I ...

Adventures in Water coloring a card front

Image
So as you all know, I have been having quite a time getting products that I've ordered from Stampin' Up ~ I'm not sure at this point what the issue is, however it is resulting in products that I have ordered arriving 6 - 8 weeks after I have ordered them. It is said to be shipping, yet I have no problems getting anything else to ship in a very timely fashion.  These delays create a real issue when trying to create projects to show to all of you. If I can't get the products I can't show card ideas to everyone - right?!  All other Stampin' Up demonstrators have showed their gorgeous designs with new product long before mine ever even arrives.  This week gone by ... I had a card class scheduled with the Trucking Along bundle, which still had not arrived! A bit of a panic was undertaken as I tried to figure out what I would switch up the card class with at the very last minute... So... water color images became the class.  The class turned out very successful and ev...
