A Little Card for Bookish, Cozy Moments

Image
As I’m tidying up the craft room today (and secretly hoping this is truly the last snowstorm of the season here in Canada), I found myself reaching for all the cozy things. You know the kind of day I mean—the one where the snow is still falling outside and the only reasonable plan is to stay wrapped in a warm blanket with a good book… or, in my case, craft a card about one. Today’s card is a little love letter to those perfectly quiet moments. The stamp and coordinating dies come from the Curl Up With Winter collection by Catherine Pooler, and they couldn’t be more perfect for a cozy theme. The adorable stack of books topped with a warm cup of tea instantly sets the mood, and the sentiment says it all: “Cuppa in hand, book in lap… let the world wait.” Honestly, that sounds like an excellent life strategy. Catherine Pooler - Curl Up with Winter Collection Coordinating Pattern Paper To build the card, I started with a layer of color-coordinated cardstock that I embossed for some ...

Birthday Tickets That Are Worth Redeeming (Especially for a Senior Moment!)

Image
Why give a regular greeting card when you can hand someone a ticket to laugh instead? These hilarious little coupon-style birthday tickets are proof that sometimes the best gift is permission to laugh at ourselves—especially when those “senior moments” start sneaking in a little more often than we’d like to admit. For this project, I had so much fun creating these vintage-style tickets using products from Whimsy Stamps , and honestly… the sayings alone had me chuckling while I was putting them together. One ticket offers a “Free Pass – Senior Moment” (redeem before you remember what you forgot), while the other grants permission for an “Old Fart Gripe Session.” Let’s be honest—both of those are absolutely priceless birthday gifts! The ticket design itself makes the whole idea even more fun. They’re thick, sturdy, and have that authentic perforated-ticket look that makes them feel like something you might win at a fair or pull from a raffle jar. The best part? There’s plenty of...

Udderly Inspired - Notebook Creation

Image
Sometimes a crafty idea turns into something a little different than a card, and this time it turned into an udderly adorable notebook! I created the cover using digital images and patterned papers in Adobe Express , layering everything together to design a fun cow-themed front page. Once the design was finished and printed, I assembled the notebook using a coil binding , which instantly gave it that polished look. To make it even more fun, I created a small charm to attach to the pen and paired it with a somewhat matchy pink pen that complements the soft colors in the cover design. It’s the perfect little notebook for jotting down ideas, sketching card layouts, or keeping track of all those crafty projects that pop into your head at the most random moments — usually right after you’ve cleaned up your craft room. Some Bunny Ate the Carrots! – A Sweet & Simple Easter Card

Image
Grab your coffee (or reheat the same cup for the third time like I usually do), because today I’m sharing this cheerful Easter card today as part of the Polkadoodles Design Team, using some adorable elements to build a fun Spring scene. This cute little bunny looks like she’s been busy preparing for Easter morning — gathering eggs, nibbling carrots, and probably judging my ability to keep houseplants alive. The card started with a soft embossed background. Nothing fancy or specific here — just grab whatever embossing folder in your stash makes you hoppy . Florals, dots, vines… if it brings Spring vibes, it works. For the center stage of the card, I used a piece of the Pretty Spring Paper cloud printable and trimmed it down to 4 1/8 x 2 7/8 inches . The clouds make the perfect little sky scene for our carrot-loving bunny. Next comes a bit of scene building. I used a random grass die cut to create a grassy border along the bottom of the panel. This layer gets popped up with foam ...
