Coloring a Die Cut from White Cardstock ~ Rustic Lantern

Image
Learn how to create this beautiful rustic look lantern from just a piece of Basic White Cardstock and colored with Blending Markers. Have you seen a rustic lantern like this? Maybe in an antique shop or in an old barn? The look is stunning and reminds us of a time gone by... a much simpler time.  In the upcoming week we will venture into this card with a few color options. The sentiment worked perfectly with the warmth of the lantern. Be sure to check for all of the details on this card.

Looking for Quick Masculine Cards! ~ Gone Fishing

Image
Tis the Season of Masculine Cards. I do believe I read somewhere that May is Masculine Card month ~ not sure if there is any truth to that statement or where it originated from.  This Gone Fishing Bundle is perfect for creating quick cards or cards that are a little more complex, you choose!  The possibilities are endless with this set.  The full Suite of products includes an embossing folder that gives the look of rope or is it waves?! That's still up for debate.  The Let's Go Fishing designer series paper pack is included in the Suite and the papers have many prints featuring images of fish, waves, fishing poles and other  related fishing themes. Of course the Suite includes the Gone Fishing Stamp Set & Dies which leaves lots of fun to be had when creating cards or scrapbooking an album of perhaps  "the ones that got away". The stamp set has only 1 fish ~ so that left me wanting a bit more, however there are tons of stamps for fishing lures and t...

5 Minute Monday ~ Blending a Quick Background ~ Lighting the Way

Image
For today's 5 Minute Monday tutorial I've done a little blending using a circle mask.  This technique always results in such a beautiful card front.  Using stamps inked in Memento Black Ink also creates a beautiful shadow effect as a focal point, light by a gorgeous sky in the background. Because the background is essentially a sky, this technique can be used with the so many different color combinations. It can look like a sunset sky with bright yellows and oranges, or a moodier sky with purples and blues.  The possibilities are endless.  As are the subject images.  I used Lighting the Way stamp set to create the above card to show how only a few small stamps can be used to create a whole card.  To start this card off you will need 2 pieces of Basic White Cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  Using a circle die, cut a 3 inch circle in 1 of the pieces, positioned just a little to the top of the card layer.  This one you are going to use for a mask....

5 Minute Monday ~ Taco Fiesta

Image
Simply in love with the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set from Stampin' Up.  It really makes some incredibly cute cards.  The stamp set includes some really fun mexican food images, along with little faces to stamp onto the images ~ as if they weren't already cute enough! Pun little sentiments top off this fiesta set with greetings such as the one used on this card front " Long time, no taco"!  These festive images need very little to make them stand out on a card front, so a simple piece of bright and colorful designer paper does the trick.  I used a piece of designer paper from the last Sale abration round to make the lettuce from the tacos stand out.  I'm determined to use up some of my lingering designer paper, so you will likely see it featured a lot in upcoming cards. Hopefully you still have some of this or maybe you have something else hanging about your craft space that will be equally as great for this card. Measurements: Basic Black Cardstock - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2...
