All About Autumn ~ Raised Panel Cards

As paper crafters, there are some days that we want to create a card but we just don't want to get out all of the splatters, mica dusts, bells and whistles.
It's just not that kind of day, or maybe you need to create a card quickly, and don't have time to put a full 2 hours into creating your card?!

I mean for the most part the more fun stuff I can do with my card, the more creative I can get, and using as many fun products as I can - is definitely my jam!!

But sometimes... you might just not be feeling it, or maybe you're stuck in a rut and can't quite figure out what to create?!

It's on these days I am grateful for beautiful background paper - paper that does the creative process for us. It's like a small cheat. Gorgeous designer paper allows us to design a beautiful card with little effort.

The cards above are perfect examples of that, created with the All About
1 sheet of paper, a circle die, and a sentiment create a gorgeous fall card,
quickly added to a card base of course.

This layout works for a horizontal or vertical card.

Choose a beautiful piece of designer paper, and a 3 inch circle die.
Cut the designer paper down to 4 x 5 1/4 ( be mindful of whether your
 layout is horizontal or vertical).
Pick what you view as the focal point on the layer of designer paper, and use the die cut to cut a circle from the focal point.
Choose a coordinating card base color cut at 8 1/2 x 4 1/4  or 4 1/4 x 11 - you decide.
Cut a circle from a scrap of coordinating card stock, and attach the circle of designer paper to the cardstock circle.
Attach the remaining part of the designer series paper piece to the front of
the card base.
Add dimensionals to the back of the circle layer.
Line the circle back up into the space it was cut from on the front of the card.
( Be sure it matches back into the picture - like a puzzle ).
On a scrap of the same color cardstock, stamp a greeting or heat emboss a greeting. Trim to size and attach using dimensionals to the front of the card.

Using a leftover scrap of the same designer paper attach a 3/4 x 4, or 3/4 x 5 1/4 piece onto a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of white cardstock to create an inside layer.
Stamp a desired greeting.

This card used a Copper Clay card base and Copper Clay ink for the sentiment.

This horizontal card had an Early Espresso card base and the sentiment was heat embossed in gold embossing powder.

Both cards are equally as beautiful and anyone would be glad to receive them and the recipient won't even have a clue that we didn't spend hours creating the card.

I hope these cards have given you some creative inspiration...
I'd love to see your cards - you can send them to me here.

Or let me know your thoughts in the comments below -
either way I'd love to hear from you!

Happy Crafting!!!
