January starts with a Bang!!
Traditionally, January comes in with a bang and the New Year is celebrated with fireworks, streamers, and confetti. Possibly even the bang or pop of a champagne cork.
Why not in our crafting space as well?!
While there are no fireworks or champagne in my studio - I guess there could be champagne?! It would definitely make crafting very interesting...😂
Ok, so no champagne, however January is going to be a month of celebrations when it comes to creating card fronts. It's a great time to refresh from Christmas trees, Santa and adorably cute and festive seasonal characters ( there will still be characters ).
I've started out with this beautifully pink and posh cupcake!
The card is created in simple format, being that it is simply stamped on a
4 1/8 x 5 3/8 layer of white cardstock. There are no layers, masking or die cutting. Except of the sentiment. The sentiment is die cut.

This cupcake stamp comes from Trinity Stamps - Celebration Cupcake
I stamped the cupcake image onto the card front and used Copic markers to color the different aspects of the cupcake. I did stamp the candle from the stamp set and then inset a birthday candle embellishment from Picket Fence Studios Embellishment Mix - Birthday Candles. Absolutely adorable little embellishments! I added a several Moonstone Glass Rhinestones to the cupcake icing and white space on the card front.
I dabbed some Polished Pink ink on a stamping block, added a few drops of water and added a little splatter of pink to the card front using a small paint brush. I did first cover
the cupcake image with a sticky note so that the splatter would only land on the
white space areas of the card.
I die cut the "Celebrate" sentiment 3 times.
I ink blended one of the die cut sentiments using 3 shades of pink inks, going from lighter at the top of the word to darker shades towards the bottom. I stacked the die cut words and glued them together to add some dimension to the greeting.
I used a Copic marker to add a little shadow under the cupcake to ground it a bit so
it wasn't just floating around in mid air.
I added a few highlight spots with a white gel pen to some areas on the icing.
Lastly I backed the card front onto a layer of Polished Pink card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhered that to a card base cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
This card could obviously be kept even simpler by leaving out the die cut sentiment and
just using the "Celebrate" sentiment included in the stamp set, however I just wanted
to bump up that greeting.

Back to the card: So that was nice and easy... yet still gave us a really cute birthday card!
Is it a birthday card? This card can be used for a celebration of any type.
No one said cake was just for birthdays, right?!
This card could be created in so many different color combinations... and you'll see a few more cards using this stamp set still to come in January!
Lots and lots of creative inspiration for this set.
Until then... Happy Crafting!!
